Research on logarithmic spiral bevel gear using reverse engineering technology

Based on the improvement of the meshing theory of logarithmic spiral bevel gear theory, aiming at the existing logarithmic spiral bevel gear, the logarithmic spiral bevel gear is further studied by using reverse engineering technology:

1.Tooth surface reconstruction of logarithmic spiral bevel gear. The existing logarithmic spiral bevel gear is scanned by 3D scanning equipment, and the coordinate data of discrete points on the tooth surface is calculated by NURBS interpolation algorithm. Firstly, the cubic B-spline interpolation curve on the tooth surface is obtained, and the tooth surface of logarithmic spiral bevel gear will be reconstructed from the interpolation curve.

2.Error analysis of structural tooth surface and theoretical tooth surface of logarithmic spiral bevel gear. A series of discrete data points are calculated according to the obtained real tooth surface equation of logarithmic spiral bevel gear. When the discrete data points are brought into the theoretical equation of logarithmic spiral bevel gear, the coordinates of a group of corresponding data points will be obtained. The absolute error and relative error of logarithmic spiral bevel gear will be obtained by comparing the data point coordinates of theoretical tooth surface with the data point coordinates of real tooth surface.
