Ring rolling, in fact, can be regarded as a rolling process, which mainly carries out continuous local compression deformation on the cylindrical gear, so as to realize the plastic processing method of increasing the inner hole and thinning the wall thickness of the cylindrical gear forging.
The processing process of cylindrical gear blank ring rolling is as follows: blanking → pier roughening → punching → punching connecting skin → shape correction → ring rolling forming.
Ring rolling has the following advantages:
- Because the cylindrical gear blank is partially compressed and the contact area between the die and the ring is small, the stress on the cylindrical gear blank forging is correspondingly reduced, which is only 1 / N of the stress on the conventional forging, so the equipment tonnage is small.
- Because the ring rolling process is aimed at the ring part of cylindrical gear blank, the metal flow of forgings is distributed in a circular shape, which is conducive to filling the mold cavity.
- In most cases, the internal grain of the formed cylindrical gear blank forging is fine and the structure is dense. Generally speaking, its properties are better than other processing technologies.
- Compared with other forming processes, the cylindrical gear blank formed by ring rolling is closer to the requirements of finished products, so it has small machining allowance, less raw material consumption, high material utilization rate and low production cost.
- Cylindrical gear blank ring rolling process has good working environment and low labor intensity.
The above are the advantages of ring rolling process. Based on the above reasons, manufacturers are more inclined to adopt ring rolling process when producing cylindrical gear blank.
