Model of crack failure of planetary gear

Taking the crack fault of planetary gear as an example, the simulation analysis is carried out. Before simulation analysis, it is necessary to establish a three-dimensional model of planetary gear crack fault, and the determination of crack fault location is the key.

Therefore, it is necessary to first use the ANSYS Workbench software to carry out static analysis on the gear mesh of the planetary gear train, so as to find out the location where the planetary gear is prone to crack failure.

1. Static analysis

The gear mesh model is imported into the ANSYS Workbench software, and the static analysis of planetary gear mesh is carried out by adding contact mesh setting fixed and distance.

The static analysis results of planetary gear mesh are shown in Figure 1.

It can be seen from Figure 1 that the area of the gear root of the planetary gear train is the place where crack faults are easy to occur.

2. Establishment of planetary gear crack fault model

Combined with the above static analysis results of planetary gear mesh, the author establishes a three-dimensional model of planetary gear crack fault, as shown in Figure 2.
