A lubricating grease groove 14 is added for the small gear 13, which is filled with a certain amount of grease, which can not only directly lubricate the small gear 13, but also protect the small gear 13; in addition, an oil receiving groove 7 is added under the big gear 12 to let the rich grease on the big gear 12 return to the grease groove 14. Figure 2 shows the scene picture of 1.5 m open disc feeder with automatic lubrication, oil return and protection functions.

After the implementation of the project, after more than one year of use, the advantages are as follows:

(1) Adding some grease loss to the grease tank every half a year can greatly prolong the lubrication period and reduce the labor intensity of maintenance workers;

(2) Gear group lubrication is automatically completed by gear meshing movement, instead of manual brushing;

(3) The rich grease on the big and small gears can flow back to the grease tank, which can prevent grease loss and purify the site environment;

(4) Large and small gears have external protection, which also eliminates potential safety hazards for equipment inspection personnel.

The application of this achievement completely solves the chronic problems existing in the lubrication of the gear set of 1.5 m open disc feeder. The structure of the two additional grooves is simple, which realizes the automatic lubrication, oil return and protection functions of the gear set. At the same time, it reduces the labor intensity of maintenance workers, improves the structure and function, and can be applied in similar equipment.
