Perfect product criteria and reliable product design knowledge are the guarantee for the rapid establishment and correct design of product modeling system. The design idea of the overall scheme of the system is the correct choice for the rapid and smooth establishment of a model and the accurate realization of parametric design.
Before carrying out the specific design of the system, we must clarify the functions and requirements of the system, so as to point out a clear direction for the smooth progress of the follow-up work. The overall function goal of the system is to realize the parametric design of the automobile rack and pinion steering gear. In order to achieve this goal, according to the structure and modeling characteristics of the automobile rack and pinion steering gear, the parametric feature analysis of the automobile steering gear parts is carried out and the characteristic parameters of the model are extracted. The parametric modeling of the steering gear part model is carried out by using the module in CATIA, and the macro program is recorded. Using VB to create the interface of model library, the secondary development of CATIA through out of process access, and the link with model library is realized.
The system can meet the design needs of automobile rack and pinion steering gear, realize the integration of design and model, and meet the requirements of improving the design accuracy, shortening the design cycle and reducing the manufacturing cost of automobile rack and pinion steering gear. Specifically, the objectives of this research system include the following aspects:
(1) The parametric three-dimensional modeling of automotive rack and pinion steering gear parts is carried out.
(2) Realize the virtual assembly of automobile rack and pinion steering gear.
(3) The human-computer interaction interface of automobile rack and pinion steering gear is established.
(4) Seamlessly and effectively link the automobile steering gear interface and CATIA, make detailed help files, and realize the mutual call and data transfer between various data.
(5) Realize the automatic generation of the model of automobile rack and pinion steering gear.
