# Basic grinding test of spiral bevel gear steel 30CrMnTi

Referring to the actual processing conditions of spiral bevel gear, the basic test of surface grinding of gear steel material 30CrMnTi is designed. The experimental research on cutting in surface grinding of gear steel 30CrMnTi is carried out with SG grinding wheel. The influence law of different processing parameters on grinding force is revealed through the test. The empirical formula of grinding force is obtained through orthogonal test, and then the grinding temperature field of gear steel 30CrMnTi is established based on ANSYS, The temperature nephogram of gear steel 30CrMnTi during grinding and the influence law of grinding parameters on the maximum temperature of grinding surface are obtained. The test results show that:

(1) Within the range of test parameters, the grinding force of gear steel 30CrMnTi in both directions decreases with the increase of grinding speed; With the increase of grinding depth, the grinding force increases; With the increase of workpiece speed, the grinding force increases. Among them, the most influential factor on the normal grinding force is the grinding depth, followed by the grinding speed, and the workpiece speed has the least influence on the normal grinding force; The factor that has the greatest influence on the tangential grinding force is the grinding depth, followed by the workpiece speed, and the grinding speed has the least influence on the tangential grinding force.

(2) The empirical formula of grinding force per unit width with high accuracy can be fitted by using the method of multiple linear regression. The empirical formula established by F test is accurate and has high confidence. Therefore, the empirical formula obtained by regression can be used to predict the force in the grinding process of gear steel 30CrMnTi.

(3) ANSYS can be used to predict the temperature of gear steel 30CrMnTi during grinding. With the increase of grinding time, the temperature of grinding surface nodes first increases rapidly and then cools gradually in a parabolic trend, and the maximum temperature of grinding area gradually increases, that is, the maximum grinding temperature of cutting out area nodes is higher than that of cutting in area.

(4) The maximum grinding surface temperature of gear steel 30CrMnTi increases with the increase of grinding speed and grinding depth, and decreases slightly with the increase of workpiece speed, and the change of grinding depth has the greatest impact on the grinding temperature.
