The extrusion forming method is proposed to realize the bar drawing, and the extrusion drawing process is numerically simulated by using the software Defrom-3D, which solves the problem of forging bending caused by the free forging process of anvil. However, the extrusion method also brings new problems, such as high energy consumption and low production efficiency. Therefore, spinning forming method is considered to realize bar drawing.
The spinning forming method is studied to realize the bar drawing, a spinning device is designed, the geometric modeling and assembly of the spinning device are carried out, and the spinning forming process is numerically simulated by using the finite element analysis software ABAQUS. The simulation results verify that the spinning forming method can replace the original free forging process.
The energy consumption of spinning forming is compared with that of extrusion forming. It is found that the total energy consumption of spinning forming is 9.9kj lower than that of extrusion forming, and spinning forming is more energy-saving than extrusion forming. It is suggested to use spinning forming method to elongate the bar.
