The bevel gear flash groove is composed of back bevel flash groove and horizontal flash groove. The planetary gear flash groove is set in the back bevel die, and the half shaft gear flash groove is set in the half shaft die, as shown in the figure. Its size can be calculated by the following two formulas.

F – projected area of forgings on the horizontal plane, unit: mm2.

Considering the above two formulas, the thickness of the back cone flash of the planetary gear is 1mm, the thickness of the horizontal flash is 1.5mm, the thickness of the back cone flash of the halfshaft gear is 2mm, and the thickness of the horizontal flash is 2.5mm, as shown in the figure.
