The digital closed-loop manufacturing technology of end face spiral gear coupling is studied

(1) The mathematical model of tooth surface considering arc cutting edge and the calculation method of theoretical tooth surface coordinate and normal vector are established.

(2) The tooth profile error correction method is established. The linear equations are solved by Tikhonov regularization and L-curve method. The machine adjustment parameters and grinding wheel parameters for correcting the tooth profile error can be obtained. Through the actual grinding experiment, the maximum tooth profile error of the workpiece is corrected from 14.3 μ m to 3 μ m, which verifies the correctness of the tooth profile error correction method.

(3) Based on the central computer, CNC gear grinding machine and gear measuring center, the digital closed-loop manufacturing system of end face spiral gear coupling is constructed. By using digital closed-loop manufacturing technology, the tooth surface precision and machining efficiency of the end face spiral gear coupling can be significantly improved.

Based on the analysis and calculation of the best theoretical tooth surface, through the digital detection and correction of tooth profile error, the accuracy of tooth surface can be effectively controlled, the times of trial cutting adjustment and the dependence on the operator’s experience can be reduced. It has important theoretical value and practical significance to improve the machining accuracy and efficiency of end face spiral gear coupling.
