In the working process of aero-engine, the bearing needs lubricating oil to lubricate and cool down, and the lubricating oil may bring many residues. At the same time, the aero-engine bearing has large load, high speed, and complex working environment, which is easy to cause fatigue damage to the raceway, ball, or cage. Excess metal chips will lead to clogging of the lubricating oil passage, resulting in poor lubrication and even high temperature, which will aggravate the damage of the bearing. When structural deformation occurs, it will cause failure.
Taking the failure of the lower bevel gear bearing of the inclined drive of a certain turboprop engine as an example, the causes of the failure are analyzed and the improvement measures are put forward, which is of reference significance for the in-depth study of the damage of the control bearing failure to the aero-engine and the improvement of the bearing structure.
During the ground inspection of a turboprop engine recently, it was found that there were a small amount of silvery metal chips in the front and rear main lubricating oil filters, and a large amount of silvery metal chips in the governor oil filter. The main oil pump was removed on site, and three rivets and debris with a length of about 1cm were found through inspection, and the bearing cage of the lower bevel gear of the inclined drive was out of the way.
