Finite element contact analysis and test of spiral bevel gear

The geometric modeling of spiral bevel gear, static loading contact analysis, dynamic loading contact analysis, the design of closed power flow spiral bevel gear test-bed, transmission error and test measurement of contact area are analyzed in detail. However, there are many factors affecting the contact strength of spiral bevel gears. Moreover, due to the limitations of time, capacity and actual conditions, there are still many problems that need to be further analyzed and studied. The follow-up work needs to be carried out in the following aspects:

(1) In the process of creating the geometric model of spiral bevel gear through virtual machining technology, the gear blank model, tool model and machining adjustment parameters all adopt the theoretical values, without considering the possible errors in the actual machining process. Therefore, the influence of error on the results should be considered in future research.

(2) In the process of loading contact analysis of spiral bevel gear, the finite element model does not consider the influence of gear installation error, box, shaft and bearing deformation on the meshing performance of spiral bevel gear. With the deepening of research, the follow-up work can consider the impact of various possible errors on the results. In addition, factors such as lubrication, friction and tooth surface temperature rise of spiral bevel gear should also be considered.

(3) Experimental research is one of the important ways to study the strength of spiral bevel gears. The contact stress and bending stress of spiral bevel gear shall be measured on the test bench as far as possible. In addition, the indoor temperature, humidity, noise and gear lubrication also affect the test results, which should be analyzed in the future research.
