Optimization of gear modification parameters based on genetic algorithm

Gear profile modification is an effective method to obtain better meshing contact characteristics and dynamic characteristics by trimming the profile (usually removing some materials) without changing the macro parameters (number of teeth, modulus, modification coefficient, etc.). The commonly used modification forms of automobile gear include lead, slope, crown / barrel and top tooth root. As shown in the figure.

Next, take the second gear as an example (its basic parameters are shown in table 3.2) to elaborate the implementation process of genetic algorithm for tooth profile modification. There is no plan for gear modification before. We hope to find the best plan through optimization method.

Due to the limitation of space, only the simplified description of the algorithm is made, and only four forms of modification of the driving gear with tooth profile and tooth direction are adopted at the same time, while the driven gear is not considered temporarily.
