To accurately capture the contour of the helical gear, it is necessary to increase the contrast of the obtained image appropriately to improve the clarity of the image. According to the formula, the grayscale values of the original image can be processed to obtain new grayscale values to enhance image quality.
In the formula, orig is the original grayscale value, Factor is the enhancement factor of contrast, and mean is the grayscale value of the mean filter. As the enhancement factor changes, the contrast of the image will also show a significant change. After multiple experimental comparisons, when the enhancement factor is set to 2, the image enhancement effect is optimal, as shown in the figure.
