Precision forging of spiral bevel gear

The precision forging of spiral bevel gear parts is numerically simulated, and the accuracy of the numerical simulation results is verified by experiments. Although some expected research results have been achieved, there are still some aspects that can be further studied and discussed due to the limitations of time and experimental conditions:

  1. The influence of temperature and friction coefficient on metal forming is not considered. The precision forming of spiral bevel gear studied is forged under the condition of hot forging. Selecting appropriate temperature and reducing friction will help to enhance the flow performance of metal materials, reduce the forming force and improve the forming quality.
  2. The tooth profile accuracy of spiral bevel gear is required to be high. In the research of cold finishing of tooth profile, only some research is carried out on the finishing amount of tooth profile blank, in order to eliminate the defects of oxidation and low precision in the tooth profile of spiral bevel gear, and the accuracy of tooth die needs to be further studied.
  3. With the help of DEFORM-3D finite element numerical simulation software, the metal forming process is simulated and analyzed. However, due to the complexity of metal plastic forming and the limitations of the software itself, the simulation accuracy is affected to a certain extent. Therefore, we should improve the finite element model, friction model and mesh re division technology, which will help to improve the accuracy of finite element simulation.
