Solving forging forming force of spiral bevel gear by empirical formula method

The forging deformation force P of spiral bevel gear is determined by empirical formula:

Where:

C – shape complexity coefficient of spiral bevel gear forging;

σ S — average flow stress, MPa;

At — projected area of spiral bevel gear forging on parting surface, including flash bridge, mm2.

The forging shape complexity coefficient, average flow stress, projected area of spiral bevel gear forging on the parting surface and calculated forging deformation force of spiral bevel gear forging formed by open die forging and non flash die forging are shown in the table.
