Temperature analysis of bevel gear during final forging

The temperature distribution of bevel gear blank during final forging is shown in the figure. The maximum temperature during final forging is 1495 ° C. The maximum temperature also occurs at the steps on the outside and flash of bevel gear blank. At the same time, the temperature at the steps on the inside and concave thin layer is also higher. The temperature at the step between the outer side of the bevel gear blank and the flash is 1361-1495 ° C, the temperature at the step between the inner side and the concave thin layer is 1351-1476 ° C, the temperature at the flash is 1101-1439 ° C, the temperature at the concave thin layer is 889-1381 ° C, and the temperature of the main body of the bevel gear blank is 1016-1289 ° C.

Therefore, the high temperature during final forging also occurs at the steps of the outer side and flash of the bevel gear blank and the steps of the inner side and the concave thin layer. This is also because the metal flow at the steps is difficult, resulting in increased friction and a large amount of heat.
