Assembly and machining experiment of equal height spiral bevel gear milling cutter

1. Assembly and inspection of cutting tools

The assembly of milling cutter bar and milling cutter head and the inspection after assembly are carried out on the cutter loading machine. As shown in Figure, this is a machine for assembly and inspection of contour spiral bevel gear milling cutter. It has the functions of measuring cycle, automatic tool adjustment and manual tool adjustment.

Through the assembly of the cutter loading machine, the position of the milling cutter bar and the milling cutter head can not move greatly. The cutter loading machine can apply a force, and can automatically place the milling cutter bar at the place to be installed, and then give the clamping force by tightening the screws for the installation of the milling cutter bar.

After the assembly of contour spiral bevel gear milling cutter bar, it is necessary to judge whether it is qualified, and then the cutting experiment can be carried out, mainly to detect the orientation of the cutting edge in the whole milling cutter disc. By detecting any pair of milling inserts on the milling cutter head, put the probe at the cutting edge of the milling insert in turn, and mark it as the zero point of the parameter data of the detected cutting edge in turn. If the error caused by runout is within 2 μ M, indicating that the assembly position of milling cutter bar meets the requirements. Finally, the unqualified milling cutter bar must be assembled again to achieve the same cutting edge position of the milling cutter head.

2. Gear processing experiment

Because the meshing equal height spiral bevel gears have two rotation directions, in order to complete the cutting of an equal height spiral bevel gear, different milling cutter discs rotating in the opposite direction are required to process the equal height spiral bevel gear. The tri AC milling cutter is selected to cut the spiral bevel gear with equal height teeth, and the hobbing method of tooth surface is adopted, which can quickly and effectively complete the cutting of spiral bevel gear with equal height teeth. The contour spiral bevel gear is machined on Gleason 175HC machine tool, and the optimized cutting parameters are used to complete the cutting of contour spiral bevel gear. When machining the spiral bevel gear with equal height teeth, the machine tool will produce vibration, which is a normal performance and is related to the assembly of the whole tool.
