When the bevel gear is formed by “one fire two forging” process, the shape and size of preform, pre forging and die cavity size parameters are the main factors affecting whether the metal can fill the die cavity smoothly. Reasonable design of the shape and size of the straight bevel gear forgings, pre forgings and preforms can control the metal flow law and ensure the smooth filling of the tooth cavity. In addition, the selection of lubricant and the determination of heating method are also of great significance to improve the metal flow law and ensure the quality of forgings. The forging, pre forging and preform of planetary gear and half shaft gear are designed. On this basis, the forming force of precision forged planetary gear and half shaft gear is estimated by using empirical formulas.

This paper introduces the “one fire two forging” forming process of bevel gear, designs the shapes and dimensions of forgings, pre forgings and preforms of the “one fire two forging” forming bevel gear, summarizes the calculation formula of forming load, calculates the forging forming force of bevel gear, and briefly analyzes some other technical problems in the precision forging of bevel gear.
