Calculation results and stress analysis of two-dimensional contact stress of smooth spur gear

1. Equivalent stress analysis of two-dimensional line contact of smooth spur gears

The general post processor in ANSYS is used to display the equivalent stress graph of spur gear contact. The overall distribution cloud diagram of two-dimensional contact equivalent stress of smooth spur gear is shown on the left side of Figure 1, and the local enlarged diagram of contact area is on the right side. From the figure, it can be seen that the maximum equivalent stress appears at the contact position between the top of big gear and the root of pinion, and the maximum value of contact equivalent stress is 1821mpa. The equivalent stress value of the line contact area between the big gear and the small gear is between 1214-1619mpa.

2. Contact stress analysis of two-dimensional contact of smooth spur gears

Figure 2 shows the overall distribution cloud diagram of the contact stress of the smooth spur gear on the left and the local enlarged diagram of the contact stress on the right. It can be seen from the figure that the position with large contact stress appears in the contact area between the top of the big gear and the root of the pinion, and the maximum contact stress peak value is 3119mpa. The value of linear contact stress between large gear and small gear is 2079-2772mpa.
