Classification of spiral bevel gears according to tooth height

Along the tooth length direction, see whether the big end and the small end of the tooth are consistent to classify.

1. Equal height bevel gear, the big end and small end of this gear is the same tooth height. The face angle, root angle, and pitch angle of this kind of gear are all equal. The Oricon bevel gear milling machine using the continuous cutting method generally processes contour gears, does not need the pressure angle correction of the cutting tool, does not have many tool numbers like the tapered teeth, and is simplified in the adjustment of the machine tool.

two。. In a tapered bevel gear, the tooth height of the gear from the big end of the tooth to the small end of the tooth is gradually reduced. Some are scaled down according to the length of the pitch cone bus; some teeth are parallel to the tooth root of the matching gear, and the vertex of the face cone no longer intersects the pitch cone vertex. This kind of tooth can ensure an equal tooth tip clearance along the tooth length direction. The vast majority of circular bevel gears use involute teeth.

3. Double shrinking teeth, the root cone vertex and face cone vertex of this kind of gear are not coincident. The root cone vertex is located on the outside of the pitch cone vertex, and its root cone angle is one angle smaller than that of non-double shrinkage teeth.

There are several common categories introduced above, in addition, there are also classified by helix angle or tooth profile, such as zero bevel gear and long bevel gear.
