Computer simulation of two axis linkage milling of spiral bevel gear

The calculation and simulation machining before the cutting experiment of spiral bevel gear can eliminate the errors in the NC machining program, reduce the verification time of actual machining and optimize the cutting motion, and verify the feasibility of the new two-axis linkage cutting method and the designed cutting mechanism. In this chapter, VERICUT software is used to establish the simplified model, tool model and gear blank model of gear cutting machine tool, and MATLAB and Excel software are used to compile the corresponding NC program of gear cutting. Finally, the gear cutting simulation is carried out under the machining simulation environment of VERICUT.

The simplified model of two axis linkage gear cutting machine tool is established by using VERICUT software. According to a specific example, the tooth blank and cutter are designed and the model is established. Based on the two-axis linkage motion analysis, the corresponding NC program for spiral bevel gear machining is compiled by using MATLAB and Excel software. Finally, the right spiral bevel gear model with 15 teeth and 9 modulus is simulated. The results further verify the feasibility of the new method of two-axis linkage gear cutting of spiral bevel gear and the designed gear cutting machine tool.
