Among the steering gears used by Chinese cars, in the last century, Jiefang automobile and Dongfeng Automobile used worm crank finger pin steering gear. Now Jiefang automobile and Dongfeng Automobile have also begun to use circulating ball steering gear, and most of other cars use rack and pinion steering gear and circulating ball steering gear.
As the rack and pinion steering gear has many irreplaceable advantages in small vehicles, China is also mass producing rack and pinion steering gear and has developed rapidly in the use of small trucks and family cars. For example, China’s first automobile group corporation uses rack and pinion steering gear in the Sino Japanese cooperation project. There are other Honda, Audi, Santana, Xiali and other cars, as well as small trucks such as Nanjing Iveco and Liuzhou Wuling, which all use rack and pinion steering gear.
Although China’s rack and pinion steering gear has developed to a certain extent, it has low production efficiency and high cost. Only professional design and assembly line production can improve production efficiency, reduce production costs and occupy a place in the domestic and foreign markets.
