Engineering application of point-line meshing gear

After years of development, the point-line meshing gear has been applied in some industrial fields. At present, the application types of the point-line meshing gear include soft tooth surface, medium hard tooth surface and hard tooth surface gear. The existing literature shows that its application fields are mainly in coal mine, automobile, water power, etc. Tao Ranfeng discussed the application of point-line mesh gear in the improved design of coal mine hoist. Under the condition that the box structure is unchanged, the maximum static tension is raised from 30 kN to 450 kN by replacing the involute gear with the point-line mesh gear, and the feasibility of the improved scheme is demonstrated through calculation and simulation, and the characteristics of high load capacity of the point-line mesh gear are proved.

Guo Fei, Tan Fuchun, etc. gave the application of the point-line meshing gear in the truck transmission. Through the use of this type of gear, the transmission number can be reduced, the transmission ratio can be increased, and the volume can be reduced. The test verification results show that the noise of the point-line meshing gear transmission is 5 dB lower than the involute gear transmission, the weight can be reduced by 78 kg, and the volume can be reduced by more than 25%. Li Haixiang and others introduced the application of point-line meshing gear in hydraulic machinery shaft kiln.

To sum up, the point-line meshing gear is currently mainly used in low-speed and heavy-load situations with low gear accuracy requirements, but has not been applied in the production of high-speed and heavy-load industrial gear boxes and weapons equipment. This has a lot to do with the complex design of the point-line meshing gear and the low machining accuracy.
