Influence of Modification Types on Static Characteristics of Involute Spur Gear Drive System

The modification quantity is 0.22mm and the length is 2.8mm. The modification types are linear modification, parabolic modification and conic modification corresponding to a=0.5 in the formula. The average engine torque of 2500N.m is applied to gear 1. The influence of modification type on meshing stiffness and load distribution coefficient between teeth is shown in the figure.

It can be seen from the diagram that the modification type mainly affects the variation curve of meshing rigidity in the modification area, but does not affect the meshing rigidity in the single-tooth and double-tooth meshing areas, and the overlap degree of gears remains unchanged. It can be seen from the drawing that the modification type mainly affects the variation curve of load distribution coefficient between teeth in the modification area.

The influence of modification type on the corresponding amplitude of the first five-order meshing frequency of meshing stiffness is shown in the figure. Compared with the gears without modification, modification increases the corresponding amplitude of the first-order meshing frequency and decreases the corresponding amplitude of the second, fourth and fifth-order meshing frequency.
