The gear turning test of face gear is carried out on the special NC machining machine tool for face gear. The sample of face gear is made of resin material. The gear turning of face gear is realized by controlling the proportional rotation of tool shaft and face gear shaft and adding a radial displacement of tool at the same time. The test preliminarily verifies the correctness of the face gear turning gear machining method. In the follow-up, the face gear turning gear machining for steel materials needs to be carried out to study the influence law of the turning gear machining parameters on the actual machining process.
1) There is a certain error between the simulated gear tooth surface and the theoretical tooth surface. The causes of cutting rake angle of gear turning tool are analyzed. The subsequent processing error needs to be further studied.
2) In order to reduce the manufacturing cost of the cutting tool as much as possible, the matrix and teeth of the face gear turning tool can be designed into an assembly form, and the matrix can be made of cheaper materials. In this way, when the teeth of the tool are damaged, only part of the teeth are replaced, not the whole face gear turning tool.
