In HyperMesh, the geometric entity of hypoid gear is meshed. The curvature of hypoid gear changes greatly, especially the hypoid small wheel. It is necessary to choose an appropriate division strategy. The tooth root fillet has a great influence on the meshing force of hypoid gear and the bending stress of tooth root, and the fillet of tooth root position is retained during meshing.
The size of the grid can be determined according to the analysis goal. In order to improve the calculation speed and quickly obtain the calculation results, we can adopt: (a) the grid division method shown in scheme 1. This grid is relatively coarse and the number of grids is small. If the meshing analysis of the hypoid gear is required, a more refined mesh (b) of the hypoid gear is required. The mesh generation method shown in scheme 2. Compared with scheme 1, scheme 2 carries out more detailed mesh generation on the tooth surface and root.
