Study on hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio

Taking the hypoid gear with 2-4 teeth and transmission ratio of 10-30 as the research object, the main research work to be carried out is as follows:

1.Geometric parameter design of hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio

The design difficulty of hypoid gear with 2-4 teeth, small transmission ratio of 10-30 and large reduction ratio is mainly manifested in: undercutting is easy to occur at the tooth root, sharpening is easy to occur at the tooth top, and tooth surface cutting interference is easy to occur during the machining of hypoid gear. Therefore, when designing the geometric parameters, we should comprehensively consider the use of radial displacement and tangential displacement, and reasonably select the pressure angle, spiral angle and tooth width to avoid the occurrence of tooth tip sharpening and undercutting.

2 Derivation of tooth surface equation

Based on the existing meshing theory of hypoid gear, the tooth cutting parameters of hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio are studied, the coordinate system of large wheel processed by forming method is established, the tooth surface equation of large wheel is deduced, the production coordinate system of small wheel is established by envelope method, and the tooth surface equation of conjugate small wheel is derived from the tooth surface equation of large gear.

3. 3D modeling and TCA analysis of gear tooth geometry

Through MATLAB software programming, a series of discrete points on the tooth surface of hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio are generated, and then these discrete points are imported into UG to generate the three-dimensional model of hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio, so as to test the undercutting and tooth tip sharpening of hypoid gear. The TCA analysis of hypoid gear pair in the design example is carried out.

4. Tooth cutting test of hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio

Using the existing gh-35 spiral bevel gear milling machine tool, a pair of 4:41 hypoid gears with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio are processed.
