Study on Lubrication Simulation of Spiral Bevel Gear

The friction force and lubrication of spiral bevel gear contact surface are studied. On the basis of modern mechanical lubrication theory, with the help of the finite element analysis software ANSYS, the transient simulation analysis of the spiral bevel gear meshing state is carried out. Under the condition that the initial contact of the spiral bevel gear has impact, the stress of each contact surface of the spiral bevel gear under different working conditions is analyzed and studied. After that, the oil film simulation theory is used to carry out the experiment, and the calculation equation is built to calculate the change law of the oil film thickness between the contact surfaces of spiral bevel gears by using the point contact film thickness formula and the elastohydrodynamic lubrication mechanism.

According to relevant data, since the end of the 19th century, academic circles have started to study the theory of fluid lubrication. Petrov, a well-known foreign expert, analyzed and studied the friction and lubrication problems of concentric bearings and cylindrical bearings. Then Reynolds combined mathematical theory with modern fluid mechanics theory and related theories, systematically analyzed the hydrodynamic pressure phenomenon, and generated Reynolds equation, which laid a theoretical foundation for the development of modern hydrodynamic lubrication theory. Since the appearance of Reynolds equation, scholars from all countries have been using it to solve it. Zheng Xuyun, a Chinese scholar, obtained Zheng Xuyun’s formula by solving Reynolds equation, which promoted the development of elastohydrodynamic lubrication theory.

The contact condition of spiral bevel gear meshing is relatively complex, and the actual situation is slightly different from the calculation result of single tooth. In order to better judge the contact state and stress condition of the spiral bevel gear during the meshing process, and analyze the stress transmission condition during the meshing process, the transient analysis of the spiral bevel gear meshing state is carried out with the help of the finite element analysis software ANSYS, and the data results that are relatively close to the actual working conditions are obtained. Then the lubrication state is calculated and analyzed with the help of the point contact oil film thickness equation.
