The grinding test of spiral bevel gear was carried out on gleason-600g CNC gear grinding machine. The single factor test method was used to explore the influence of grinding speed vs, generation speed W and grinding depth AP on the tooth surface roughness of spiral bevel gear. Norton straight cup SG grinding wheel is used as the grinding wheel, and the test device is shown in Figure 1. The grinding process parameters of spiral bevel gear are shown in Table 1. During machining, each tooth slot corresponds to a set of parameters. After grinding, cut the tooth sample inward about 10 mm deep along the direction of the big end of the spiral bevel gear, and clean the tooth sample in the ultrasonic cleaning machine. White light interferometer (ccilite-m112) is used to measure the tooth surface morphology and roughness of spiral bevel gear.
Parameters | Numerical value |
Grinding wheel grain size | 46 |
Grinding speed vs / (M / s) | 10,15,20,25 |
Grinding depth AP / mm | 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.09 |
Development speed w / (° / s) | 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 |
Grinding mode | Small end to large end reverse grinding |
Cooling mode | Oil based coolant |
The tooth surface morphology of spiral bevel gear after grinding photographed by white light interferometer is shown in Figure 2.
Fig. 3 is the variation curve of tooth surface roughness of spiral bevel gear after grinding with different grinding parameters. It can be seen that the tooth surface roughness of spiral bevel gear decreases with the increase of grinding speed and generation speed; With the increase of grinding depth, the tooth surface roughness of spiral bevel gear increases.
