Generation principle of tooth surface of spherical involute spiral bevel gear

Based on the generation principle of tooth surface of spherical involute spiral bevel gear, two new tooth cutting methods are proposed. The new gear cutting method proposed in this paper breaks through the existing Gleason gear cutting system, making the gear cutting machine and tool simplified and the motion control simple. However, because the machining technology of spherical involute spiral bevel gear is a research subject involving more knowledge and higher technical requirements, there are still many problems to be discussed in depth.

(1) The new cutting method is studied in the aspects of cutting principle, cutting motion analysis, computer simulation and cutting experiment. However, the gear cutting tool has only carried out the preliminary structural design. The gear milling tool should be further improved and the systematic gear cutting process should be studied.

(2) In order to further verify the meshing performance of spiral bevel gear processed based on the new method, the next step is to carry out the on load meshing transmission analysis of spiral bevel gear and the test and analysis of various performance indexes such as transmission stability, strength and fatigue life.

(3) The principle prototype of spiral bevel gear cutting machine tool developed is refitted on the basis of the existing NC milling machine and the addition of key components, which can meet the various motion relations in the process of cutting with the new cutting method. However, in order to further improve the accuracy and machining efficiency of the gear cutting machine tool, a new CNC spiral bevel gear cutting machine tool should be developed.
