Influence of tool error on gear hobbing accuracy

When the gear hobbing machine processes the gear, the accuracy of the cutter has a great influence on the gear machining accuracy. The gear hobbing cutter affects the gear accuracy, mainly the tooth profile accuracy and base pitch accuracy. No matter whether generating method or forming method is used for tooth surface forming, the cutting edge of gear hobbing hob has manufacturing error and measurement error, especially when generating method is used to process the cutting tool, the error of gear cutting tool itself will also be mapped to the workpiece gear in the processing process, and the cutting edge has tooth shape error, tooth direction error, blade helix error, radial circular runout of tool outer diameter Tool tooth rake angle error, etc. When machining gears by forming method, the mapping relationship between tool error and workpiece gear error is more intuitive; This paper analyzes the mapping relationship between the error of gear hobbing hob and the geometric error of workpiece gear when machining gear by envelope method.

The influence of tool error on gear machining accuracy is studied. Firstly, an appropriate theoretical model is established for various errors of the tool and the gear workpiece. Then, according to the theoretical model and combined with the gear meshing principle, the mapping relationship between various errors of the tool, including tooth profile error, helix error, tooth thickness error, radial circular runout error and rake face error on the gear machining accuracy is studied, and a conclusion is drawn; Then the theoretical involute and the involute machined by the gear hobbing hob with error are simulated by MATLAB.
