Three dimensional contact finite element model of concave cylindrical gear

The three-dimensional solid model of the gear is established by CATIA. After being imported into ANSYS, a series of spherical units are on the gear contact surface by using the general preprocessor in ANSYS, and these spherical units are subtracted on the gear surface by using the subtraction function in the processor to form a pit type with certain size and distribution.

Fig. 1 is a three-dimensional contact solid model of gear with pit shape, and the distribution of pit shape is located in the contact area of gear, that is, near the base circle of large gear; The finite element model of pitted gear after meshing is shown in Figure 2. The intelligent meshing function will automatically encrypt the mesh of pitted contact area.
