Hypoid gears are difficult to manufacture due to the complex tooth surface structure. In this chapter, according to the theoretical research mentioned above and the processing parameters of hypoid gears with small number of teeth, a pair of tooth cutting tests of hypoid gears with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio are carried out to verify the feasibility of the theoretical research.
According to the geometric parameters of hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio, the machining parameters of large and small wheel machine tools are calculated and TCA analysis is carried out. From the TCA analysis results, the machining parameters are more accurate. Using the existing gh-35 machine tool, the machining of hypoid gear with 4:41 teeth is completed. From the actual tooth profile, the results are basically the same as those obtained by three-dimensional modeling.
In the actual machining process, the large wheel does not have tooth surface interference, the small wheel does not have undercutting, tooth tip sharpening and so on. The feasibility of the theoretical research on hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio is verified, which lays a theoretical foundation for the application of hypoid gear with small number of teeth and large reduction ratio in the future.
